Spain is the country where it is sunny almost all the time. But enjoying swimming and lying in the sun don't forget to look at Spanish places of interest. There are a lot of opportunities for fantastic vacation.
I spent in Spain only a week. And of course it is not enough if you want to feel the spirit of the country. I visited Catalonia. Every day of my trip I looked at new places. And now for me Spain is a kalaeidoscope with ancient, old and modern buildings, fantastic gothic churches, masterpieces of
Salvador Dali.
Remembering my Spanish vacation I feel a little bit annoyance because I had lack of time and couldn't see more. So my advice is to plan a travel better and have enough time for making your plan come true.

Barcelona, Spain |
If you are in Сatalonia of course you should visit Barcelona. From my experience it will be better to do it by yourself without excursion. I visited Rambla, Gothic Quarter. But I saw houses created by Antonio Gaudi only from the sightseeing bus.
Fortunately I had time to see his main masterpiece - The Holy Family Cathedral. In Spain people often call the Cathedral "perpetual constructing". The constructing of the Cathedral began in 1882. And now it is not finished. Every facade of the Cathedral has its own style. When you look at the entrance of the Cathedral it may seem that all building is made of sand.
To see the city panorama you can on the view point on Montjuic or just from the platform near National palace.

There are a lot of graffiti in Barcelona. It may seem strange but they fit perfectly to historical center of the city. Also in Barcelona you will find a lot of reminders about Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso - world-famous artists.

It will be a mistake to pay attention only to Barcelona in Catalonia. Other towns are also really interesting. Our guide told us to go shopping in Tarragona. But there are so many interesting things in Terragona that you can easily forget about shopping.
For me the main places of interest there were Roman buildings.

Another interesting town that I visited was Girona. If you want to see the architecture of Middle Ages you must visit it. There come in an old church, look upwards and probably you will realize might and beauty of gothic. So it was with me. The walls of the church were so high that I could imagine that in the chirch there were clouds like Boris Vian described it in his book.
