Travelling the World with Iuliia Pozhidaeva

Winter Palace, St. Petersburg St. Petersburg is the city where I was born. I admire its cathedrals, palaces and other buildings. Every corner in the center can give you a surprise. Sometimes I look at all these and feel that my heart, my soul can’t contain all this beauty.

Lipetsk If you visit St. Petersburg, you will definitely learn that Peter the Great founded the city in 1703. It is well-known fact, but there is another town closely connected with the first Russian emperor. I mean Lipetsk that is situated about 1180 kilometers from St. Petersburg and about 100 kilometers from Voronezh, the cradle of Russian navy .

Goto Predestinatsia, Voronezh In the previous post, I wrote about the first Russian Emperor Peter the Great . One of his most outstanding acts was Russian navy creation. He was fond of sea from his childhood. Then he had little boat. When he became mature, he went to Europe to learn shipbuilding. In the late XVII century, ships were necessary for the Azov campaigns. Peter the Great chose Voronezh as a place where the navy would be built. Shipbuilders from all Russia and Europe went to Voronezh (it is located about 500 kilometers from Moscow and 1000 from St. Petersburg).

The monument to Peter the Great, Petropavlovskaya fortress, St. Petersburg Peter the Great was he first Russian emperor, outstanding person who really changed Russia.  Russian artists and sculptors create lots of masterpieces dedicated to the first Russian emperor Peter the Great. Now I am going to tell about two monuments to the emperor.
