Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky Monument – the Symbol of Russian Unity

Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky monument, Moscow  On November 4 in Russia National Unity Day is celebrated. Four centuries ago in 1612 civil uprising under Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky defeated the army of Poland and Lithuania. Walking on the Red Square in Moscow you will see the monument dedicated to Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky. In was created in 1818. Ivan Martos, the architect, made the project for it. Two sons of Martos became the models for the sculptures.
