Winter Dresden: Cityscapes, Old Architecture, Snow and Birds

Sight to old part of the city center, Dresden

It is my second winter in Dresden. And this winter is not like previous. Sometimes it snows and everything around changes. Last year there was no snow in Dresden. But now people can enjoy real winter with sunny frosty days.

Zwinger, Dresden
Sunny or cloudy day - regardless of lighting, snow gives you a new look on your usual walking routes. Old achitecture or path along the Elbe - everything looks different. And it is a real pleasure to see your favourite places in other circumstances.

I also like cloudy days. In these days everything around can look really dramatic or vice versa very soft and calm and sometimes mysterious.
The Elbe, Dresden
Last winter Dresden citizens could enjoy a little bit snow in Saxon Switzerland, fortress Koenigstein. But this year winter season has become a real present from nature.
The Elbe even froze in those points, where there is no fast flow of water.

There are a lot of birds on the Elbe banks.
