Art Objects from Different Parts of Russia - 3

The eagle with soldiers, Orel

In this post I am going to show photos of art objects in form of animals and birds.

The first photo was taken in Orel. The bird is an eagle, the symbol of the town. The word "eagle" means "orel" in Russian. The are two soldiers next to the sculpture, who remain us about the age of Ivan the Terrible when the town was founded.

The next two art objects are from St.Petersburg.

The hare, St. Petersburg
Tourists can see this hare when they go to Petropavlovskaya fortress. It is situated on Rabbit island and this rabbit is the symbol of it.

Chizhik-Pyzhik, St.Petersburg
This is Chizhik-Pyzhik. You can see it at Fontanka. It can be difficult to find the little bird if you don't know the exact place where it is. It is near Michaylovsky castle and the First engeneering bridge.

Students of Imperial college of law were called by people Chizhik-Pyzhiks because of colours of their uniform.

There is even funny poem that was devoted to them

Chizhik-Pyzhik, where have you been?
I have drunk vodka at Fontanka ...

The kitten from Lizukova street, Voronezh

These kitten and crow live in Voronezh. They are heroes of popular in USSR cartoon "The kitten from Lizukova street". The street with this name is really situated in Voronezh. And the kitten in the cartoon tells about his love to this city.

White Bim Black Ear, Voronezh

This monument is devoted to Bim, the hero of Gavriil Troepolsky novel "White Bim Black Ear". The monument is also situated in Voronezh.

The boar, Voronezh

There is a new story in Voronezh. If you touch the boar you will be lucky.
