Voronezh state reserve The history of Voronezh state reserve began when Moscow scientists found there beavers. Earlier there was the opinion that all beavers were exterminated in Russia. After this in 1923 Voronezh state reserve was established. Nowadays you can see not only beavers in the reserve. Tourists can also look at rare plants, walk along picturesque pathways, visit museums and just relax being surrounded by Russian nature.

Nikolskoe-Vyazemskoe Nikolskoe-Vyazemskoe was the homestead of Tolstoy family. Leo Tolstoy, world famous writer, often visited it and worked here. Specialists in literature say that Nikolskoe-Vyazemskoe became the prototype of Otradnoe homestead that was described by Leo Tolstoy in "War and Peace".
March, Voronezh Every season has its own advantages. Traditionally people love spring for the nature awakening. In March birds began singing, snow began melting. Yasnaya Polyana Yasnaya Polyana is the main homestead of outstanding Russian writer and philosopher Leo Tolstoy. It is situated in 12 kilometers from Tula. Leo Tolstoy was born here and in 82 years buried not far from his house.
Leo Tolstoy One foggy morning I came to Leo Tolstoy settlement. It is called in honour of one of outstanding Russian writers - Leo Tolstoy. Earlier this settlement was called Astapovo. In times of Leo Tolstoy there was a big train station. And there the author of "War and Peace" and "Anna Karenina" had to leave the train because of his illness.

One of them is Yelets, located in 393 kilometers from Moscow. It was founded in 1146. Therefore, it is older than Moscow that was found in 1147. People say that Yelets is as old as ancient Russia. Having such a long history, the town survived in many wars.
